Course Perspective
This subject will provide students with the knowledge on appropriate techniques in technology planning and forecasting. The focus will be on the methods and techniques used for technology planning and forecasting.

Emphasis will be given on companies' research findings applying the technology. It will also teach students on technology forecasting principles such as forecasting techniques, factors impacting that forecasting performance of high technology industries. This subject trains students to become practicing forecasters and technology-based decision makers.

Topics include cultural development, risk management frameworks, etc. Students will able to understand the relationship between risk management and corporate environment and develop their own models in managing risks. Using live interactions with leading figures in the venture finance community, most of the class sessions will analyse fundamental strategies of the venture-capital investment process and the critical importance of the relationship between entrepreneur and investor

Course Objectives
Nowadays the challenges of manufacturing and service industries around the globe have much changing. The competition among the companies either manufacturing or service is much strong. Furthermore, automation in manufacturing and service industries becomes something necessary to cater tight competition among industries. Automation can be an effective competitive weapon; however automation alone would not be effective if it is not integrated into other elements in manufacturing systems.  

This course is designed to address the current situation of global competition, manufacturing and service industry systems, automation, production systems and related state of the art topics in the manufacturing and service industries.
